Bahria Enclave, Islamabad

Islamabad
Constructed Wetland (Bioremediation)
← Back to Project Portfolio

The Challenge

Bahria Enclave, a planned housing development in Islamabad, needed a wastewater treatment system that could scale to a residential community's domestic sewage volume while meeting a meaningful pollutant-reduction standard.

The Solution

Critical GREEN designed a constructed wetland-based wastewater treatment solution, applying biological treatment processes within an engineered wetland environment sized for the development's needs.

The Outcome

The system was engineered for up to 85% reduction in COD, BOD, TSS and fecal coliform — a strong performance benchmark for a nature-based system — and demonstrates how constructed wetland treatment scales cleanly to planned housing developments, integrated directly into the residential landscape rather than hidden away as purely utilitarian infrastructure.
